The video was created during a residency in Bucharest and it reacts to specific working conditions in an unknown environment and a short period of time that was given. The video is based on text – a short story that reflects my own experience of Bucharest. I capture my own feelings and through the main character of a tourist I describe prejudices and distrust of a foreign environment. The form of the video reflects given circumstances and conditions – I had only a laptop and a camera with me. The final recording is created by the inner camera of the laptop that captures what`s happening on its display – moving a mouse, opening and closing the frames, files and obviously a narrative.

The video is based on a conversation of a group of people. They just read the conversation. My approach to this film reflects my effort not to create a film illusion. The plot is shot by a camera from two directions. The scene is very simple; the editing is simple. In the end the author and a small child step into a scene corresponding to conditions of a home environment in which was the film shot. Thematically, the film belongs to a series featuring the issues of a domestic environment, in which I express my opinion on an accumulation of redundant things and an inability to realistically evaluate their importance and real utility.

The video called "It should have been an ordinary day" is mainly intuitive and a susceptible work with a certain amount of absurdity freely dealing with the theme of the violation of personal stereotype and planned future. The plot is described and depicted throughout the video in the mixture of texts where one chosen sentence-situation always appears. By this formal play I intended to support the story itself, where the main protagonist´s ordinary acting (which fits to him) is disturbed by an accidental or unexplainable stroke. I wanted to violate classical system of story and dramatic line.

Selected participants created together with me in their flats a small (approx. 30 x 10 cm) temporary “film set” only using ordinary household objects, decorative materials, groceries, photographs and other tools. The created scene was shot only for few seconds and then by zooming out a camera it merged with its surroundings. This process is similar to how we perceive a home environment and a particular family as visitors and how they function in reality. It is a short depiction of a non-existing world captured by a camera, which is capable to create a trustful illusion. The video consists also of a text describing a depicted situation. The text was created after the scenes were shot.

The projection is composed of two parallely projected images, the left one – horizontal, depicts setting (exteriors and interiors) and the vertical one, plot and characters. The actors just perform small acts, move, or look into the requested direction. All is set in an empty bathroom, whose almost monochrome colour scheme refers to a chroma key background used in film industry as a certain means during shooting. (It enables to create great scenes with lower cost.) The vertical position of the take copies the purpose that is to catch only the figure. The horizontal image depicts the view “behind the actors”, i.e. on the environment that should become the background after the connection of the images. The connection does not come about this time and viewers observe both elements separately – next to each other. They are connected by the same rhythm in the editing composition, the point of view and the ratio of zooming in. Another connecting element is represented by the story teller who several times enter both pictures and by the plot description enables viewers to understand the story. She becomes a very important moment in the plot of the video (the man enters the flat). Her position is not outside the story, but she becomes a part. The border between the exterior and interior view is violated in the end when the entire story ends by the main hero´s request “to stop the shooting”. The story itself, which is actually secondary thanks to the above-mentioned reasons, illustrates by the absurd form the impertinence of an individual that is in this case brought to the extreme. The victim is so upset that can hardly react properly. The video installation Keying White Screen – Člověk z Dunaja (A man from the Danube) relates to my previous works (9.18 seconds, Twice I met the same baby,) where I intended to seek possibilities of depiction, editing of movable images, and the ability of plot perception by viewers.

The video observes a girl typing a short text describing a situation we are just watching – a girl typing on a typewriter. A serious plot, or intending to be serious, is backed up by artistic features (typewriter, cutting out an image of a pigeon in a curtain) and has an ironic ending when a camera turns around and is on the other side of a scene – behind the scene showing a group of people (in this case not actors) observing the whole scene and shooting.

Short video is a minor probe, intuitive capture of the situation where three young women are linked by mutual similarity. One is recorded on a photograph, the other on video taken from the Internet server Youtube.com, the third, real girl, is the connecting link. The video is projected on a hung curtain, takes up half of the picture and shows a recording where a young man is putting together the Rubic's cube in record time. Editing of the video is based on the recording projected on the fluttering courtain.

The video loosely deals with the events from the environment of greyhound races in the regional town Ivanka při Nitre (southeast of Slovakia). It consists of three main elements: 1. text, 2. rear projection, 3. main stage The text in the beginning of the video describes the consecutive action which is gradually shown in the first and second act. Editing of the video is based on the video shown on the rear projection in the second act, therefore action in the first act does not always correspond with logic of the plot in the first act. The video itself describes, in a parallel way, and in two timelines, the story of an owner and her dog, which is a mongrel with no pedigree. It finds itself among purebred greyhounds, where it visibly does not fit in. The actors do not attempt to act, do not wear costumes, act in the role of extras, who predominantly adapt the positions which resemble the situations described in the text.

Video named: "I have twice met the same child. " tries to visually illustratemy memories of unrealized plans and wishes The situation I indicated by using rear projection (where I show the plot taking place in the past) with a young man in front of it who moves in stylized interier.

This film tells a story about a girl who broke an extremely precious teapot in a flat of a man. During his absence she took care of his dog and flat. The film deals with the theme of reliability of our acts and the disability to solve them. The protagonist is confronted with a very unpleasant situation (a broken teapot) and she does not know how to solve it. She starts to perceive things intricately and she receded in her mind from the primer problem (shards on floor). The story goes on in town quarters of Prague called Vinohrady and Žižkov and it is the first time when I have situated my movie into the Czech Republic and into a concrete locality.

Video called after a town quarter, Sixpenny Fields, records "some" story of a girl in the surroundings of an English town. In the first half, you can see a household, pet (bunny) and simple activities. The second half is separated from the first one by the text Five days later. This text indicates that despite the style of editing, the video really contains some story. The form of telling the story is very sketchy and it is directed more to perception of whole video. I have intended to create a video that would work mainly with rhythmical editing composition, a esthetic form, atmosphere and visual attractivity. It is my first video where the story plays a second role.

The film captures frequent event that sooner or later occurs in most of households. We are talking about replacement of older CRT TV for bigger flat LCD or plasma TV. I tried to point out a trivial thing, which occurs nowadays in our Central European environment and which is actual, and although we consider it as one of common things. I wanted to capture it and imagine, how such TV replacement is made. The very story is composed so that the viewer can perceive also the second, less noticeable film line, which notifies that people, neighbours, households have their secrets which can only be guessed and which create certain shared suspense. The film takes place almost in one room only, where a group of four people is playing party games, drinking tee and is awaiting new television. Several times, the written text comes into the story and describes the current or following situation.

The video film between fiction and document describes events that followed after I read the 100+1 magazine from the year 1990. The video is divided n two parts. The first of them is a short text, where I try to describe the story; and the second one, where the visual part illustrates described events. Visual form is partially uncertain and not too descriptive and it is rather combined together like some „collage“. In addition to shots that were created for this film, I used also photos from the 100+1 magazine and a real record of AVU students debate. Soundtrack consists of music remixes and in a short section, there are also real background sounds. I tried to deal with a theme that was current for me and the photo from 100+1 gave me good inspiration. I was interested in the time of studies and particularly in the transition to the ordinary way of life, where people abandon their hobbies and dreams, mainly due to the fact that they have to make money and the matters discussed by them during studies, which seemed fundamental to them, are no longer important. It brought changes to lives of most of people.

The video tells the story of internationalscientificexpedition that comes to still unexplored area ofWestern Siberia to researchtree species and forest sub-surface. However, the main themeofthe film is onespecies of fly (Musca Pallida) that occurs only in the area, to which the scientific team is heading. I describe the story documentarily and the viewer isprogressively informed about the course of the expedition, from its arrival to Siberia, to the lecture in the town of Eberswalde. At the beginning, I mention the Pale fly, whichis described also by its Latin name Musca pallida (scientific name), however, at the end of the story, we found out that the scientific expedition came tothe areaatthetime when the Light fly havealready diedout andcannot be discovered and listed intothelists of species. With use of simple metaphors, I tried to describethehuman individual in the position, where the things and situations begin and end independently on him. The storytelling is composed so that the viewer expects confrontation between human and fly. However, there is one very important moment in the story; the view of this story from thepoint ofviewindependent on time sequence/line, so not only view of the film itself, but particularly of the story as such.

Video Sound of flutes has originally arisen at the occasion of an exhibition project Gallery by Night in Fkse Gallery in Budapest. The project conception was based on a cooperation of two artists from the Czech, Slovac Republic and Hungary. I cooperate with Marta Racz from Budapest. After email communication we have decided to shoot a short video about our cooperation. Final video that uses written text as a kind of building material describes my journey from Prague to Budapest, looking for the music and other activities related to the document preparation. The music background plays an significant role in our video. It has been adopted from documents about artists. I have tried to recall an old phenomenon that for several decades took part in the majority of tv profiles about art in the Czech Television.

In this frame the main characteris getting ready for an important bussiness meeting. When he is just about to go he realizes he’s forgotten important documents and decides to use the remaining five seconds to save the meeting. He only way to avoid meeting his clients without the documents is to jump down from the 10th floor, walk through the garage door and get the documents from his office cated thirty minutes drive away. The film describes ludicrous decisions made byt he man when he found himself in a difficult situation although he could have avoided that.

In the film Anna Schmidt I have concentrated on an apartment house in Eberswalde. I have described the destiny of a flat in the third floor, where an occupant moved and although she lived there for about two years, other neighbors did not know her and she did not know them either. She did not try to get to know her neighbors. She avoided any unnecessary contacts. Once the neighbors realized that her neighbor, Anna Schmidt, did not live in the house anymore. They were not able to say the date when she had left the house... In this simple story I have intended to work with the theme of an apartment house and of different people's needs that live in there, alienation and natural disregard of neighbors.

The story tells about a driver of a trolley-bus in the town Eberswalde. The protagonist spends the last day of his holiday by thinking of his next working day that may have similar development according to the traditional screenplay, like the other days. Viewers may watch two switching time levels. Present time (Sunday) and future (Monday). I describe step by step ordinary household chores in the present tense (dinner preparation, watching street from window etc). Future tense depicts the man’s probable way to work, to the trolley-bus depot, and later on, several first bus stops of his car. Each of these time levelsappears alternatively three times. Three parts that represent future, i.e. Monday, are ranged in the opposite order. To facilitate viewer’s orientation I have distinguished between the texts describing present time from the texts related to future by using normal font and italic.

The video depicts banal situations which can be seen in everyday life in our environment. All of them are shot with a static camera. The shots are taken in Prague but the story is set in a not very significant city Eberswalde in Germany. None of the filmed scenes show the usually identifying elements of the urban area such as shopping signs, names of the streets or significant monuments. The scenes are filmed in vague locations. And so, the stories could have been taking place in any city of the former Ostblock. Both feature film and documentary shots are combined.

The film that consists mainly of written text describes a medical experiment which started in the 80’s in the Soviet union and ended in the half of the 90’s in the totalitarian Belarus. To make the narrative real, I geographically anchored the story in the Soviet Union and Belarus in the recent past. Even though Belarus is a part of Europe, thanks to its political situation it is still isolated and unreadable. The intention of the film was to create a feeling that this story could really have happened.
I work with the traditional medium-format photography since 2012. I’ve decided to work with this approach probably because I felt the need to change the form of displaying the topic which I’m mostly interested in, in ‘’story-telling’’. My photographic series are directly connected to the videos. They have practically the same way of preparation. From idea, script to the written text and execution. The necessity of preparation and staging the photographed stories into tiniest details attracts me as well. After pressing the shutter release button I don’t edit the photo anymore and I don’t do any postproduction.

A series of 4 photographs in which the written text is an important element, depicts a story taking place in the home of two elderly people. Jana and Jiří get a device for maintaining order and they hope that they will have a tidy home without much effort. The device works though in a very strict mode and after a while it emerges that the device cannot be switched off nor be thrown away.

The series of photographs Water Molecule tells a short story about a man who thinks rationally but looks for one specific water molecule. This man started his attempt at Želivka. The working process on ‘’Water molecule’' was identical just like during the making of videos that he mostly devotes himself to. After finding the right theme, the written text describing the story was developed. Finding the form to display which would support the content, followed. When both of the layers were thought-out, the process of realization started. In this case a photo-shooting that was repeated several times.
